Posting this here sue to the lack of forum titles and well no one uses this one much anyway.
I found a ceramic tile manufacture Florim USA that uses up to 40% recycled products including glass to manufacture its tile. Yes, a true green tile manufacture that makes nice porcelain tiles. And better yet its manufactures in the USA. I was at a grand opening for Big D Floorcovering Supply in Tucson and met this exceptional young lady, Marissa Vogel who really knows alot about tile. Heck, she even knew what rectified tile was. Anyway, just wanted people to know that Green tile is out there. This is going in my bag of green products. Florim USA will be getting its LEED certification for their tile soon. |

I used to go to JB's forum, I don't go there much anymore cus quite a few of the regulars there have there heads up you know where. Rectified tile is tile that has been run through another line in the manufacturing process that squares to exacting tolerances other than just throwing it in a box after manufacturing. Some tile can be off more that a 1/16 in the same box and is tough to install with small grout joints, So if a customer wanted 1/16 in joints it would be virtually impossible. Home Depot should carry some. |
