Little pricey for me, least the ones I have seen.
You can go the cheap way and drill through. No big deal since you're doing destructive testing anyway.

How thick are post tension slabs traditionally?

How about an engineered slab with tied in rebar?

I though you said you already found all that info on the internet and was free for everyone, and you didn't need any more education about it.

Mike Currin and Perry Wright should learn how to enter into discussions rather than throw insults and try to look like industry experts.

These two spend more time trying to make others look like idiots than they do participating in discussions.

Guys, stop worrying about what others say and post. Start participating in discussions. It does not matter if somebody is right or wrong, it's all about discussions to learn from.

Some guys post incorrect info for purpose of discussion and learning........ you two take it as an opportunity to sling insults and degrade others in hopes of making yourselves look bigger then the Big Guys in the industry.

It's a waste of time. Small people are small people and I've finally figured out that small people cannot learn or change. The low self-exteem wins every time.

LOL...

Please remember Perry called it a "Rafter Slab"......... I guess the 20 minute seminar was too much for him and he only picked up 4 minutes of the information.

I dunno, what would you do?

I did re-check it this morning, 24 hours later the temp was 74 F and 79% Rh. Looks like its in the zone, but wondering why it changed so drasticlly.

I have been fighting with the owners personal sec about this downspout from the gutter feeding the flower bed. They attached an extension so it will run out onto the blacktop.

Stephen:
Are slab temps really that high where you are?
The ground is 55 degrees? Yes? No?

Go do your research and then keep it to yourself, if you wish. You did spend your valuable time searching and reading it.

You guys are worse then my daughter, when she tries to get me to do her homework for her, instead of figuring it out for herself, after I have directed her in the right direction. You will never learn, much less retain it, unless you do the work.

Ray is a sick man....... No doubt about it.. but who is Ray?
I don't see the insults... just pointing out facts about the bullshippers and liars and those not willing to enter into intellectual discussions...
Nothing more irritating than having to read posts made by nbody's trying to be somebody's..

Yes, I can show you a picture using my laser if you wish. 70F to 80F is pretty common here.

Thats ok Perry if you do not know how to determine the depth or thickness of a slab. No one really teaches you that.

Rh Testing:
How deep is the hole and how deep does the sensor go?

I'm having REAL trouble getting it through my thick skull about the 72f reading in the concrete.... or does it read the temperature at the top of the slab or the air on top of the slab?

I know very little about Rh testing so please share your knowledge with me.

When you consider that cold tap water can be 80+ degrees in the summer you get an idea how hot the ground can get.

Wayner is right. I don't even need hot water to shower in the summer!

The sensor is at the bottom of the hole which in this case was 1 3/4 inches in depth, for a 4 in slab. Thats 40% per astm F2170-02.

I found an easy way to determine the depth in most cases. Hint, its in most bathrooms.

Test results on Monday leveled out. same on Tuesday as well.I think it was a quirk that it read 92%. Not sure why but Ron Smith said they have never seen that before. This is one reason why you do three tests. The other tests were within 1 to 2 points.
