The strip on the right was tested in pool water. Strips on the left tested on concrete with ph neutral water. Strip in center is from a Taylor CaCl test kit.

These strips were tested with tap water on concrete.
Which one is more accurate? The pool test strips or the taylor?
Note, no chlorine showed up in the tap water or ph neutral test.
The total alkalinity (third pad down on the left strip)pad is most interesting .
As long as the pH stays within the range the pool kit appears to have greater accuracy.

I thought I'd check to see if these could work in a pinch. But like Scott says the range is not as high and the color chart is not the same.
I find it odd that these strip pads are made differently.
How bout that alkalinity? Can you test total alkalinity on concrete with test strips? Yes or no and why?

I know the paper does, but do the new pads like Taylor makes and the pool strips? Taylor strips come sealed.
