I heard this from a customer last night. I heard they are still selling off their inventory. (Probably seconds!)

I think it is interesting that with more wood going in, they are shutting down?

Mohawk says the they are shitting down this old carpet plant in June because of a consumer shift towards wood and tile......... apparently not "Bruce" hardwood.

Just wondering if it's an older mill. Didn't they build a newer one recently?

I don't know why it closed. If you think about the orange box and the blue box sell oodles and goo-bobs of Bruce.

Mohawk is averaging 200 lay offs a week,
office employees have been encouraged to take days or weeks off without pay in hopes of preventing lay offs. They figure, if they can keep the trained officer workers at half pay it is better than the cost of training new ones when things get better,,,
however, in the mills it is a different thing, they can keep a few who will train the new guys as the machines are running,,,
things are not going to get better,

now, something to think about, we always make fun of and say how bad the people in Europe have it,,, but, they have "protectionism taxes and practices in place" so, guess what, they are doing ok,,,better than we are doing,,,,
what would be wrong with American protecting its own?
so many of us repeat the "corp. line", shouldn't we be more concerned with the "people line",,, and get this, in many of those countries, they have a mandated four week vacation each year, with pay,,,,dang, don't that sound good! but, I am sure, that does not apply to self employed as many of us are.

if backed by gold, a lot of these billions will not be worth near as much, and the speculation wealth based upon subjective valuations will make it easier for the middle class, but, as seen every time the neocons get someone in office, their goal is to destroy the middle class and block any upward movement by the middle class.
