I don't get to many stair jobs round these parts so I am reluctant to buy one of those fancy jigs Wayner posted a picture of.

It's $150 tool, don't be cheap.

I did a staircase recently where I cut the drywall- no jig or template needed. First time I did it that way, also first time I put the nosings on last.

Damn that is good work. I have comtemplated doing that but I have been reluctant to do it.
