Got a call from a builder who was told by a store here that sells "Green" products and nothing else to glue down the foil side to the concrete, cork side up with moisture cure urethane and then glue stranded bamboo to the cork with Taylor 2071.
Anyone here of this method before?
Needless to say it failed miserably and he tore it out. He siad it cupped really really bad.
If he hadn't used the wrong trowel (too much glue) I doubt it would have worked anway.
Here I used Mapei WFM moisture barrier, and then the client bought Taylor 2071 with the bamboo, from some "green building" place, here. I'm letting it flash off.
Worked real well.

DESCRIPTION Planiseal WFM is a one-component, ready-to-use moisture-curing urethane membrane designed to protect glue-down wood-flooring installations from subfloor moisture damage. Planiseal WFM ’s special formula regulates dryness by controlling the release of moisture vapor transmission from the subfloor. With its superior elasticity and tenacious bond,
I am more curious if anyone has heard of using that foil backed cork on concrete. I have seen it before but only referenced for use under floating floors.
I think the lady at the green building supply is confused.
