Got a call from a builder who was told by a store here that sells "Green" products and nothing else to glue down the foil side to the concrete, cork side up with moisture cure urethane and then glue stranded bamboo to the cork with Taylor 2071.

Anyone here of this method before?

Needless to say it failed miserably and he tore it out. He siad it cupped really really bad.

If he hadn't used the wrong trowel (too much glue) I doubt it would have worked anway.

If you don't let that 2071 flash off good, and try to go into it real wet, it will cup.

All I'll use on Bamboo, is Mapei WFM & 990 adhesive, combo.

Here I used Mapei WFM moisture barrier, and then the client bought Taylor 2071 with the bamboo, from some "green building" place, here. I'm letting it flash off.

Worked real well.

The finished bamboo, in a small 8x6 office room off their garage.

The guys that delivered the desk, trashed 10 boards, installing the desk.

It sure looks like Taylor adhesive.

Planiseal WFM is a one-component, ready-to-use moisture-curing urethane membrane
designed to protect glue-down wood-flooring installations from subfloor moisture
damage. Planiseal WFM ’s special formula regulates dryness by controlling the release
of moisture vapor transmission from the subfloor. With its superior elasticity and
tenacious bond,

I am more curious if anyone has heard of using that foil backed cork on concrete. I have seen it before but only referenced for use under floating floors.

I think the lady at the green building supply is confused.

I've heard of it being used on concrete, but as you said under floating floors.
How is the foil attached to the cork? Adhesive, Right?

Yes, the foil is already attached to the cork.

Problem was it was not stuck to the concrete when the builder demo'd the bamboo.
