Thanks for having this forum where you don't get edited and anyone can read all the forums.
My what alot of info in this place. I wondered out loud why they do not let you look in pro forums over there and got some squirrley answer. Plus, the guy got all po'd cus I hide my ISP. That which people have used since the inception of the world wide web btw. Like its a criminal.
I cannot divulge my ISP or name due to extenuating circumstances of my employment. I work for a sensitive part of the government.
Anyway, I was searching the web looking for information on hardwood milling tolerences and if there are any universal ones that all mills abide by. We have a job to get done and do not need any down time. Plus theres going to be some wiring going on under there.

Thanks Mucho!

sorry they would not help you,
you can email me at slt7@charter.net and I will do my best for you,
they can be a little stuck up over there and some of their administrators think they are smarter than everybody else,,, even when shown wrong they say they are the "THEFLOORPRO",,, like since when does being wrong is made right by a website?
never mind,,email me, I will help you where they would not,,,tell all your friends to come here and we will help,
slt

You mean this? I see it was edited. Google hardwood milling tolerances:

Did you mean: hardwood milling tolerances

Pre-finished Milling Tolerances - Hardwood and Laminates Q&AWho sets these milling tolerences and are they universal from mnanufacture to manufacture from country to country? Thanks.

Prefinished Milling Tolerences - Hardwood and Laminates Q&AWhy can't a non-mmember read the forum about this topic? Is it that sensitive an issue that regular ole prople cannot read it? Is it a secret?

Not surprising. Some BB's are set up to force people to become members so they can boast about high numbers, plus DIY'ers are added as well. I think it is the only one out there that does require membership to read posts.

Hmmmm does that remind anyone here about a certain carpet association certifying people with a pat on the back?

Anyway, wasn't gonna touch that but here's a link. Do not forget to check the drop down menu, specifically the "publications". Also you need to ask the manufacture what their milling tolerances are. That said I'm not sure what manufactures milling tolerances are in width and thickness or the T&G if thats what you mean.

You must not have been able to register???

There is a wealth of information found there, that you will ever get here. Once a long time ago....

This place has become for fun & games, if you want to get serious, register and participate, instead of a hit & run, drive by.

You were told "The Professional Forums are just that, for professionals." Hardly a squirrley answer. You were also told you were welcome to read & post to all the other forums, ones you do not have to register for, by the way.

>>Plus, the guy got all po'd cus I hide my ISP.

No, he didn't. He simply told you that a proxy server may prevent some of the site's features from working for you.

Ignoring your criticism and confrontational attitude, the Admin welcomed you and your question; had you pursued your question rather than your beef about not being able to access the Pro fourms, I am sure you would have received an answer from someone.

Boy it takes a long time for a post to get screened here.

I thought the whole idea of a DIY forum was not to have to register.
That in itself has proven difficult for even some pro's to get signed in here after the switch to the new software. I guess they were trying to sign in with their old email addy. It's a little confusing at first.
Least one does not have to get finger printed here.

Still more info here than anywhere else on the net.

Thanks anyway. I did get my info right here. Even though it takes forever. I did it in a PM.

I guess I could have just signed in here and asked but it seemed to be the area for people like myself.

You will become a sef fulfilling prophecy. You want to be secretive and so it will be -- so secret -- it will become very very quiet over at floorpro.

No one answered the question yet.

I did a little investigative work myself. It looks like there are many others who have asked the same question. Must have been all the same person. Yeah of course.

I guess you will have to point me to the tolerances on prefinished. I went there before but did not see anything.

As far as I can tell the prefinished mills come up with their own proprietary standards.

NOFMA sets milling tolerances for solids.
ANSI/HPVA 2002 is the standards for engineered milling tolerances.

So what is new to this?

Some guy got embarrassed over at THP, but they did answer his question.
