I'm obtaining quotes for installation of carpet in my small home. One vendor is per sq ft - one per sq yard. How do I convert the price so I can compare them?

Thanks so much.

9 sq. ft. = 1 sq yd.

So multiply the sq ft price by 9 to get the sq. yd. price.

Ex. $1.77/ ft x 9 = $15.93/yd

or if you have divide the yardage price by 9 to obtain the price per foot.

Your kidding right?

Multiply square footage by 9 to get the price per square yard.
